பிறவியலை யாற்றினிற் புகுதாதே ... பிறவி என்ற அலைகள் வீசும் ஆற்றுவெள்ளத்தில் மீண்டும் புகாமல் இருக்க,

பிரகிருதி மார்க்கமுற்று அலையாதே ... இயற்கை செலுத்தும் வழியில் சென்று இஷ்டப்படி திரியாமல் இருக்க,

உறுதிகுரு வாக்கியப் பொருளாலே ... உறுதியான குருவின் உபதேச மொழியின் உண்மைப் பொருளைத் தந்து,

உனதுபத காட்சியைத் தருவாயே ... உனது திருவடிகளின் தரிசனத்தை அருள்வாயாக.

அறுசமய சாத்திரப் பொருளோனே ... ஆறு சமயங்களின்* சாத்திரங்களுடைய சாரமாய் நிற்பவனே,

அறிவுளறி வார்க்குணக் கடலோனே ... தம் அறிவிலே உன்னை அறிந்தவர்களுக்கு நற்குண சமுத்திரமானவனே,

குறுமுனிவ னேத்துமுத் தமிழோனே ... குறுமுனி அகத்தியர் புகழும் முத்தமிழ் வித்தகனே,

குமரகுரு கார்த்திகைப் பெருமாளே. ... குமர குருவே, கார்த்திகைப் பெண்களின் பெருமாளே.
