ஆடல் மதன் அம்பின் மங்கையர் ஆல விழியின் அன்பில் ... போருக்கு எழுந்த மன்மதன் வீசும் மலர்ப் பாணங்களாலும், விலைமாதர்களின் ஆலகால விஷம் போன்ற கண்களில் காட்டும் பொய்யான அன்பினாலும்,

பிறங்கு ஒளி ஆரம் அது அலம்பு கொங்கையில் மயலாகி ... ஒளி கொண்டு விளங்குவதும், முத்து மாலை அசைவதுமான மார்பகங்களில் மயக்கம் கொண்டு,

ஆதி குருவின் பதங்களை நீதியுடன் அன்புடன் பணியாமல் ... ஆதியாகிய சிவபெருமானுக்கும் குருவாகிய உனது திருவடிகளை உண்மையுடனும் அன்புடனும் பணிந்து வழிபடாமல்,

மனம் நைந்து நொந்து உடல் அழியாதே ... மனம் சோர்வடைந்து, வருந்தி என் உடல் அழிவுறாமல்,

வேடர் என நின்ற ஐம்புலன் ... வேடர்கள் போல் நிற்கும் சுவை, ஒளி, ஊறு, ஓசை, நாற்றம் என்ற ஐந்து புலன்களின் செயல்களும்,

நாலு கரணங்களின் தொழில் ... மனம், புத்தி, சித்தம், அகங்காரம் என்ற நாலு அந்தக்கரணங்களின் செயல்களும்,

வேறு பட நின்று உணர்ந்து அருள் பெறுமாறு ... என்னைத் தாக்காத வகையில் நான் வேறுபட்டு நின்று உன்னை உணர்ந்து உன் அருளைப் பெறும்படி,

என்வேடை கெட வந்து சிந்தனைமாயை அற வென்று ... என்னுடைய ஆசைகள் அழிய நீ என் எண்ணத்தில் வந்து கலந்து, மாயா சக்திகள் ஒடுங்கும்படி வெற்றி கொண்டு,

துன்றிய வேத முடிவின் பரம் பொருள் அருள்வாயே ... சிறந்த வேதங்களின் முடிவில் விளங்கும் மேலான பொருளை உபதேசிப்பாயாக.

தாடகை உரம் கடிந்து ஒளிர் மா முனி மகம் சிறந்து ... தாடகை என்னும் அரக்கியின் வலிமையை அழித்து, விளங்குகின்ற பெருமை வாய்ந்த விசுவாமித்ர முனிவரின் யாகத்தைச் சிறப்புற நடத்திக் கொடுத்து,

ஒரு தாழ்வு அற நடந்து திண் சிலை முறியா ... ஒப்பற்ற (அகலிகையின்) சாபம் நீங்குமாறு (கால் துகள் படும்படி) நடந்து, (ஜனக ராஜன் முன்னிலையில்) வலிமையான சிவதனுசை முறித்து,

ஒண் ஜாநகி தனம் கலந்த பின் ... இயற்கை அழகு பெற்ற சீதையை மணம் புரிந்து மார்புற அணைந்த திருமணத்துக்குப் பிறகு,

ஊரில் மகுடம் கடந்து ஒரு தாயர் வசனம் சிறந்தவன் மருகோனே ... அயோத்தியில் தன் பட்டத்தைத் துறந்து, ஒப்பற்ற (மாற்றாந்) தாயாகிய கைகேயியின் சொற்படி நடந்த சிறப்பைக்கொண்டவனாகிய இராமனின் மருகனே,
