......... Meaning .........
chedi udampu aththith thetRi iraththam cheRi narampu ittuk kattiya sattam: This body is the receptacle of all sins, made up of bones. This is an edifice built with blood and a closely-knit nervous system.
chiRai thiraNdu okkath thokka vinaip pantha vikAram: It is an alloy of several conflicting attachments, an admixture of several past deeds that have combined together to imprison this body.
thimira thungkath thaththuth thirai etRum jenana pangaththuth thukka kadal kaN thiru(ku) kurumpaip pattuc chuzhal theppam karaNa Athi kudi pukum pokkap pukkil: In the dark and miserable sea of birth with tall waves lashing out, this body rolls about floating like a tender coconut plucked from somewhere and thrown into a whirl-pool in the mid-sea; it is a vessel full of myths drifting away on the water (of the sea of birth) whose occupants are the four basic tenets, namely, mind, intellect, arrogance and will.
iRappin kudilam venthu okkuk kottil malaththin kukai: If life departs the (treacherous) body, it is rendered into a thatched hut that is burnt away. It is a coffer for the three basic slags, namely, haughtiness, karma and delusion.

padi tharum kaRpuk kaRpaka mukkaN kodi pasum chithrakkuth thara(m) muththam paNi nithampaththuc chaththi ukakkum kumarEsA: She possesses immaculate chastity and is compassionate like the (wish-yielding) KaRpaga tree.
She is slender like a creeper and is endowed with three eyes (namely, the sun, the moon and fire). She wears a string of greenish pearls that is worthy of adornment. She has a genital that resembles the hood of the snake. She is Mother, UmA DEvi, and is elated by You, Oh Lord KumarA!

thodi idum pathma kaikkum idaikkum churuLpadum paththi patta kuzhaRkum thukir kadainthu oppiththitta ithazhkkum kuRa mAnin chudar padum kacchu kattu mulaikkum thuvaLum nenjaththa: Your heart melts for the lotus-like hand of VaLLi, the damsel of the KuRavAs, that wears the bangles, her waist, the neat deck of her curly hair, her lips that have been adorned with churned coral and her dazzling bosom that wears a tight blouse, Oh Lord!
suththa irukkum surarum vanthikka kacchiyil niRkum perumALE.: You are seated in Kancheepuram, a shrine that is worshipped by the pure Rigg scripture and the celestials, Oh Great One!
