துரிதப தங்க இரதப்ர சண்ட
     சொரிகடல் நின்ற ...... சூராந் தகனே.

குடர்நிண மென்பு சலமல ... குடல், கொழுப்பு, எலும்பு, நீர், மலம்,

மண்டுகுருதிந ரம்பு சீயூன் பொதிதோல் ... பெருகும் உதிரம், நரம்பு, சீழ், மாமிசம், இவையெல்லாம் மூடிய தோல்,

குலவு குரம்பை முருடு சுமந்து ... ஆகியவற்றால் ஆன சிறு குடிலாகிய இந்தக் கட்டையைச் சுமந்து,

குனகிமகிழ்ந்து நாயேன் தளரா ... கொஞ்சிப் பேசியும், மகிழ்ந்தும், நாயினேன் தளர்ச்சியுற்றும்,

அடர்மதனம்பை யனைய கருங்கண் ... நெருங்கிவரும் மன்மதனின் அம்பை ஒத்த கரிய கண்களை உடைய

அரிவையர் தங்கள் தோள் தோய்ந்தயரா ... பெண்களின் தோள்களில் மூழ்கி அயர்ந்தும்,

அறிவழிகின்ற குணமற ... அறிவு அழிந்து போகும் தீய குணம் அற்றுப் போக

உன்றன் அடியிணை தந்து நீயாண்டருள்வாய் ... உன்னிரு பதங்களைத் தந்து நீ ஆட்கொண்டு அருள்வாயாக.

தடவியல் செந்தில் இறையவ ... விசாலமான பெருமையை உடைய திருச்செந்தூரில் தங்கும் இறைவனே,

நண்பு தருகுற மங்கை வாழ்வாம் புயனே ... அன்பைத்தரும் குறப்பெண் வள்ளிக்கு வாழ்வாகும் திருப்புயத்தோனே,

சரவண கந்த முருக கடம்ப ... சரவணபவனே, கந்தா, முருகா, கடப்பமாலை அணிந்தோனே,

தனிமயில் கொண்டு பார்சூழ்ந்தவனே ... ஒப்பற்ற மயிலின் மீது ஏறி உலகை வலம்வந்தவனே,

சுடர்படர் குன்று தொளைபட ... ஒளிபரந்த கிரெளஞ்ச மலை தொளைபடவும்,

அண்டர் தொழவொரு செங்கை வேல்வாங்கியவா ... தேவர்கள் வணங்கவும், ஒப்பற்ற சிவந்த கரத்தினின்று வேலைச் செலுத்தியவனே,

துரிதபதங்க இரதப்ரசண்ட ... வேகமாகச் செல்லும் பறவையாகிய மயிலை தேராகக் கொண்ட மாவீரனே,

சொரிகடல் நின்ற சூராந் தகனே. ... அலைவீசும் கடலின் நடுவே (மாமரமாய்) நின்ற சூரனுக்கு யமனாக வந்தவனே.

kudarniNa menpu salamala: The intestines, fat, bones, urine, faeces

maNdukuruthina rampu seeyUn pothithOl: spurting blood, nerves, pus and flesh; all these are wrapped within the skin,

kulavu kurampai murudu sumanthu: constituting this small cottage of a body - this piece of wood that I am bearing.

kunakimakizhnthu nAyEn thaLarA: I, the lowly dog, flirted around, rejoiced and eventually got tired.

adarmathanampai yanaiya karungkaN arivaiyar: The dark eyes of women are like the arrows shot by chasing Manmathan (God of Love);

thangaL thOL thOynthayarA: and I simply drowned in their shoulders and became exhausted.

aRivazhikinRa kuNamaRa: In order that I could get rid of that vice which destroyed my intellect,
