aRpar kOthu sEr izhi kulaththar kula mEnmai kURiyE nadu iruppar: some lowly people of despicable origin always boast about their lineage and take centre-seats on the stage;
sORu idAr tharuma puthra kOvu(m) nAn ena isaippar: those who never feed the hungry people claim to be the great charitable King Dharmaputhra;
midi UdE AzhuvAr nithi udai kupEranAm ena isaippar: people who are drowning in poverty call themselves KubEran (the Lord of Wealth);
Asu sEr kali yukaththin neRi eethE: and this is the way of life in this blemished age of Kaliyugam.
