* In Madhurai, the 48 letters, which are the aspects of Goddess Saraswathi, took birth as 48 Tamil Poets and adorned the court of King PANdiyan. They formed an assembly of poets (Tamil Sangham) under the auspices of PANdiyan. Lord Somasundaram (SivA), presented a plank, known as Sharada Peetam (Sanghap palakai), on which Murugan mounted as Rudrasanman, a poet, and resolved the disputes among the other poets - ThiruviLaiyAdal PurANam.
