Ar ath thana pArath thukil mUdip palar kANak kaiyil yAzh vaiththu isai kUra: They cover with their sari their heavy bosom adorned by pearl necklaces; they sing a great deal while playing yAzh (a string instrument) with their hand under the admiring eyes of many;

kuzhal udai sOra Akam pani neer ap puzhuku Odak kuzhai Adap piraiyAsaip paduvAr: they let go of their hair and upper garment, with a mixture of rose water and musk running through their body while the golden ear-drops (on their ear-lobes) swing back and forth - all these they do with deliberate and gay abandon;

pottu aNi sasi nEr vAL kUrak kaNai vEl kaN kayal pOlac chuzhalvAr: with vermillion dot adorning their moon-like faces, they roll their eyes like kayal fish - the eyes that look like sword, sharp arrow and spear;

sarkkarai kOvaik kani vAy pal kathir oLi sErum kOlak kuyilAr: their kovvai-fruit-like mouth, from which sugar-like words emanate, shows dazzling teeth, bright like the sun and the moon; their speech is like that of the beautiful cuckoo;

pattu udai nUl oththa idaiyAr siththira kOpac cheyalAr piththarkaL uRavu AmO: they wear silk saris around their thread-like slender waists; their acts of rage are very artistic; do I need to keep my relationship with such mad whores?

pUrith thana pAras sadai vEthak kuzhalAL paththarkaL pUsaikku iyalvAL paththini sivakAmi: She has fulsome bosom and matted hair which is symbolic of the VEdAs; She accepts the worshipful offerings of Her devotees; She is the virtuous Goddess, SivagAmi;
