andhOmana mEnama dhAkkaiyai nambAdhe: Alas, Oh my mind, do not trust this body of ours thinking that it is permanent.
yi dhAgitha sUththiram: It is just a machine intended to produce pleasure and pain.
ambOruga nAdiya pUttidhu: It is a lock specially designed by BrahmA who is seated on a lotus.
inimElnAm anjAdhamai yA: Hereafter, there is no other option for us but to fear its mortality.
giri yAkkaiyai panjAdiya vElava nArkku: The Lord with the spear shattered the mount Krouncha to pieces;
iyalangAguvam vA: to Him, here and now, we should surrender with devotion.
ini dhAkkaiyai ozhiyAmal vandhOm: That is the pleasant course. Without letting the body waste away, we have come to Him.
idhuvE gathi yAtchiyum indhA: This is the blissful liberation. This is also the great advice of the wise ones. So, please take hold of this.
mayil vAhanar seettidhu: This is the ticket given to us by the Lord mounting the peacock.
vandhALuvam nAmena veekkiya sivaneeRum: Assuring that He would come and protect us, this is the token of His promise given to us in the form of holy ash.
vandhE veguvA namai yAtkoLuvandhAr: He is pleased to come to us and gladly take us over.
madhamEdh ini mErkoLa: Is there any other religion for us to embrace?
maindhA kumarA enu mArppuya maRavAdhE: Never forget to pray loudly "Oh Son of SivA, KumarA!" for your own protection.
