vEdha veRpilE punaththil mEvi niRkum abirAma: The Mount of VEdAs (ThirukkazhukkundRam*) and the millet-field at VaLLimalai are Your favourite abodes, Oh Handsome One!

vEdu vacchi pAdha padhma meedhu: On the lotus feet of the hunter-girl, VaLLi,

checchai mudithOya: Your tresses with vetchi flowers fall with love;

Adhariththu vELai pukka ARiratti buyanEya: With devotion and timeliness, You went to her millet field, Oh twelve-shouldered Friend!

AdharaththodA dharikka Ana budhdhi pugalvAyE: In order that I may worship You with the same love and devotion, You have to preach to me the correct way.

kAdhu mugra veera badhra kALi vetka: When the fierce form of SivA came as Veerabhadhra** KALi also came with Him; She was embarrassed (because she could not compete in dance with SivA)

makudAm AkAsa mutta veesi vitta kAlar: when SivA threw his bejewelled crown into the sky and tried to pick it up with his toes by performing Oordhwa ThAndavam (toes going skyward); that SivA,
