thEnundhu mukkanigaL: Honey, three great fruits (mango, plantain and jack fruit),

pAlseng karuppiLanir: milk, reddish sugarcane and coconut water -

seerum: the sweetness of these things

pazhiththasivam: is surpassed by Sivam;

aruLURa: that Sivam's Grace has to sprout copiously inside me.

theedhum pidiththavinai yEdhum: All karmas due to bad deeds and good deeds

podiththuvizha: will be shattered into pieces.

jeevan sivasorupam enathERi: I shall realize that this Soul is nothing but SivA's form.

nAnenba dhatru: My ego will be completely destroyed

uyirod Unenba dhatru: and my attachment to life and body will be gone;

veLi nAdham parabbirama: in the milky way of my mind, I shall hear the tune of Brahmam (Omniscience) and

oLimeedhE nyanam surappa: in that bright light, Knowledge of Sivam will fill within me like a fountain.

magizh Anandha siddhiyode: In that happy sense of attainment,

* During Deva-Asura tug of war over the milky ocean to churn out the Divine Nectar, Amrutha, first the most venomous poison, AlahAla, came. To save everyone, SivA decided to gather all the poison Himself and gulped it. PArvathi held His throat lest the poison reached inside SivA, and the blue scar in His throat earned SivA the name Neelakantan 'Blue throated'.

** In Tarukavanam, certain rishis who could not stand the superiority of Sivan, performed an evil sacrifice (Abhichara Yagnam), and sent out Fire and Wild Deer to destroy Sivan. He tamed them by holding in his hands - see the hands of NadarAjA form of Sivan for the Fire and Deer.
