yERu kaRpaduva neeLai pokkirumal: stone-like abcess of carboncle, bronchitis, whooping cough,
mAlai putRezhutha lUsal paRcaniyo danthimAlai: ringworm around the neck, cancer, dizziness and vertigo, acute fever, night-blindness,
mAsa daikkurudu kAtha daippu sevidUmai: blindness caused by gingivitis, deafness due to blockage of ear, speech-impairedness,
kettavali mUla mutRutharu: spasmic fits and seizures, and bleeding piles - these are some of the diseases grown and ripened in the tree of this body!
mAlai yutRathoNu RARu thaththuvarka LuNdakAyam: This body is the seat where the ninetysix tenets* seek orderly occupation;
vEtha viththupari kOla mutRuviLai yAdu viththakada lOdam: This body is the arena many games of Lord Almighty, the essence of all scriptures, who takes many forms and tosses it like a little boat on the high seas;
moyththapala vEda mittuporu LAsai patRiyuzhal singiyAlE: this body also puts on various costumes and roams about greedily to make money, and in that process, poisons itself slowly;
veedu kattimaya lAsai pattuvizha: it builds a house and, therin, crumbles due to passionate lust.
vOsai kettumadi yAmal muththipeRa veeda Liththu: I do not want to miss the inner musical tone and die in vain; for that, You will have to grant me liberation and a place in the heaven.
mayi lAdu suththaveLi sinthiyAthO: May I not meditate on You and have the blissful vision of Your cosmic dance, mounted on the Peacock?
Otha aththimuki lOdu sarppamudi neeRu pattalaRa: The seas with roaring waves, the clouds and thousands of hoods of the serpent-king (AdhisEshan) were all shattered to pieces;
cUra veRpavuNa rOdu pattuvizha: the demon SUran, his protective (seven) hills and the demons living thereon were all destroyed;
