pAthakac chaman than mEthiyil pukunthu pAsam vittu eRinthu pidiyAthE: and saving my life from being snatched by the rope (of attachment) flung by the evil God of Death (Yaman) who mounts the buffalo,

vEtham mikka vinthu nAtham meyk kadampa veerapathra kantha murukOnE: You are the Phallus (Lingam) and Life-Force (Shakthi), the primordial principle, praised by the scriptures, Oh Lord who wears the garland of kadappa flowers! Oh valorous and Handsome One, KanthA, MurugA!

mEruvaip piLanthu cUranaik kadinthu vElaiyil thoLaintha kathir vElA: You hold the dazzling spear which pierced the mount Krouncha which is equal to Mount MEru, destroyed the demon SUran and later dipped into the ocean, Oh Lord!

kOthai pon kuRinji mAthu kacchu aNintha kOmaLak kurumpai puNarvOnE: You embraced the pretty baby-coconut-like bosom, wearing the blouse, belonging to VaLLi, the damsel of the lovely land (Kurinji) of KuRavAs!
