As ordered by the sage Agathiyar, Idumban carried the mountain (Sivasakthi form), as kAvadi but got lost on the way. Lord Murugan appears and redirects him. After a rest, Idumban finds it impossible to lift VarAgagiri's kAvadi. He finds a little boy standing on it and shows his temper on him. The boy, (Lord MurugA), punishes him. At the pleas of Idumban's wife, Idumbi, He forgives him and blesses them with several boons.
