    The sage Sikanti, while travelling to KathirkAmam, is ambushed by AyrAvasu
    (a KAntharvan - celestial chorister), in the form of an elephant. The sage
    meditates upon Lord MurugA and throws a betel leaf on the elephant. The leaf
    transforms into the mighty VEl and subdues AyrAvasu and relieves the curse
    on it as well.
